Bulletins Live ? Food and drink at the festival

Guardian Open Canteen – festival flavours curated by Oliver Rowe

The Guardian staff canteen will be transformed over the weekend to offer visitors a festival inspired, locally sourced menu. Curator Oliver Rowe, (food writer, chef-at-large, founder of Konstam in Kings Cross and star of the BBCs Urban Chef series), is committed to seasonal produce and local sourcing with a focus on northern and central European cuisine.

His festival menu combines nutritious and delicious food and includes salt beef sandwiches, spinach and nettle soup, London beer battered mackerel and root vegetable chips, lamb or vegetable cobbler, pulled pork, shredded chicken or mushroom ragout with salads. Perfect for eating on the hoof or a relaxed lunch.

Breakfast of bacon or roasted mushroom sandwiches will be served from 9.00am until 11.30am.

The canteen will be serving English wines and a selection of lagers, as well as Olivers home-made Seville orange and lemonade. Fairtrade, locally roasted coffee and Tregothnan tea will accompany the home made cake stall with meringues, Victoria sponge, pumpkin seed flapjacks, brownies and cupcakes.

The canteen is located on the first floor of the Guardian offices and is open to all festival goers.

Green amp; Fortune Caf?

An independent caf? sitting in the atrium of Kings Place that focuses on fresh, homemade food.

Our freshly made coffee comes from beans grown in happy farms across Guatemala, Costa Rica, Kenya and Sumatra, which is then hand-roasted by the Union guys and their team here in London. During the weekend, thanks to our partnership with Union, 10p from every cup of coffee sold will be donated to the local charity New Horizon Youth Centre.

Sandwiches are handmade every morning, yards away from where they are sold, while our in-house pastry chef ensures a healthy collection of just-out-the-oven cakes are always at hand. Our carvery counter provides great hot sandwiches heavily featuring lamb and beef from our own farm and with the addition of fresh salads and great hot dishes, there is something to cater for everyone.

Throughout the Open Weekend well be continuing our range of special offers, strategically placed throughout the day for when you need them most. If youre arriving early and want to kick-start your day, grab a free coffee or tea when you buy a hot breakfast bap or pot of our delicious bircher muesli. At lunchtime our feast for a fiver deal does exactly what it says on the tin, offering a sandwich, crisps, piece of fruit and a drink for just £5 or, if you fancy something to warm you up, enjoy any of our hot dishes and a drink for just £5.50. Finally, if you need a bit of a pick me up in the afternoon or even just want a bit of something yummy, get any cookie or cake for just a
£1.00 when you buy any hot drink!

Rotunda Bar and Restaurant

Not many restaurants lay claim to their own farm and an onsite hanging room. Rotunda Bar amp; Restaurant however, can do just that. Sitting on the lip of Regents Canal, Rotunda boasts an impressive restaurant menu ? with cuts of beef and lamb from their farm proving particular highlights. Add to that a great selection of wine and beers and a devilish cocktail list and it is the perfect place to enjoy your weekend.

During the Guardian Open Weekend, we will be opening from 10am with a traditional breakfast menu, great coffee and spicy Bloody Marys ? a great way to kick start your day. Then from 12pm we will be offering a fantastic two course menu for just £14.95, featuring some British classics, with £1.00 from each menu ordered being donated to the local charity New Horizon Youth Centre.

We will also be featuring our homemade gourmet burgers accompanied by a chilled beer for just £9.95 as well a full a la carte menu and a selection of lighter bites available throughout the day.

Weather pending we will also have our waterside terrace open to hopefully enjoy the fresh spring sunshine, and views of the Regents Canal.
